Biography of Ezra Pound (American Expatriate)

Ezra Loomis Pound, born on October 30, 1885, and died on November 1, 1972, was a US expatriate poet, a critic, as well as a leading figure in the early modernist movement in poetry.

He became a well-known figure due to his role in developing imagism, as a reaction to poets from Victoria and Georgia who were fond of the language of the meeting, but without any decorations and strong correspondence between the verbal qualities and music expressed.

  • Ripstes (1912)
  • Hugh Selwyn Mauberley (1920)
  • The Cantos

Right in 1901, Ezra Pound was registered to undertake lectures at the University of Pennsylvania. However, he came out after two years of college and moved to Hamilton University located in Clinton, New York. At the University, he managed to get a degree in philosophy.

At that time, Ezra really knew if he wanted to be a poet. At the age of 15, he talks with his parents if he has the desire to become a poet.
