Biography of Warda Al-Jazairia (Algerian Singer)

Warda Al-Jazairia was born on July 22, 1939 and died on May 17, 2012 at the age of 72 years is a singer from Algeria who is known to sing songs and music with Arabic themes.

Literally, her name means "Warda from Algeria", but she is better known as "Warda" alone, or "Algerian Rose" in the western media.

Warda itself was born on July 22, 1939 in Puteaux, France from a mother who has Lebanese nationality and her father is an Algerian national. Himself began singing at the age of 11 years.

At that young age, he was immediately known as an Algerian singer. Meanwhile, when she married in 1962, she was not allowed by the husband to sing.

The Algerian president Houari Boumeiene called on the Warda to sing on the anniversary of Algerian independence in 1972, which was directly coupled with the Egyptian orchestra. Thus, his marriage was destroyed and devoted her life just to sing.

Then he moved to Egypt and married a composer named Baligh Hamdi.

Himself sang many songs Baligh Hamdi and other Arab composers, so she is widely known widely and several times have successfully launched the album. In fact, she also had played in several films.

Warda died on May 17, 2012 at the age of 72 years, precisely in Cairo, Egypt, because she suffered from heart attack.
